The moment shakes my breath
Unsteady and uneven streams
Of exhales and inhales flow
As the moon throws shadows
Playing hide and seek on walls
Protecting me from beliefs
That existed on the other side
Of these satin white sheets

Ideas meant to shape me
Plotting to steal my identity
Don’t tell me I am not beautiful
Don’t tell me I need to be better
Don’t tell me I am broken
Or that I need to be fixed
Don’t tell me, just don’t
That I am not enough

Because somewhere…
Someone will fight for me
Someone will show me
I am most definitely enough
And I will realize it wasn’t me
But your perception
That made me…

Not enough

And I will find myself held
Inside arms of protection
Next to someone who will
Kiss away every single fret
And we will both feel whole
With the not enoughs
That exist on this side
Of these satin white sheets

  1. *fetches sword and horse and armours up, just in case*

This is beautifully done and rather heartbreaking in places.

I’ll take a risk and say I hope you find someone who understands and values how incredible you are, and who properly adores you, and that maybe you could be happy with them.

  2. Blue satin, blue watered silk is the way I find today’s Winter sky, where small Finch’s and Wren’s dance upon the slightest of twigs and leaves in these low trees, these shrubs of seasonal colour, all while here, lying on this cool morning’s short grass, looking up, thinking, right now not to move, just to wonder and ask; can you see the Moon tonight, can you reach its distant mountains upon a folded page drenched in ink and heart, will you look up and climb the tallest oak to wait, to greet your fresh Summer’s Sun, all the while lingering in that single breath to both Day and Night, where neither slumbers for just that one short sweet moment, beneath such wonders to a new Day’s world and a Night’s departing journey?
