SKINNY DIPPED

There is a beautiful language

That doesn’t need words

It is written with heartbeats

In our calm breaths

In the laughter that echoes

In the bone deep warmth

Of a love that stays

In a world that keeps turning

Where clocks tick off the seconds

Where people come and go

But in the space between your hand

And my skin everything stops

And it feels like

Time forgets to count

And yet the hours still shrink

Into slipped away moments

Becoming memories

Before the now is finished

Time just feels too small

To contain the ALL of us

And I find myself wanting to

Borrow time

Maybe a handful from tomorrow

Or a quiet hour from spring

Ten more neck kissing mornings

Or a thousand cuddle filled nights

Even just time for one more laugh

That has me rolling in tears

Because today isn’t enough

And forever feels too short

So…

Let’s skinny dip the rest of now

Wearing nothing but each other
