DISCONNECTED CONNECTION

Every opinion is a feast

For a ready made

Come and go audience

Applause available

No matter the wisdom

And we’ve given our kids

Hungry pockets

They carry the world inside

Connection…

Feels less connected

They confuse being seen

For being known

Being followed

For being loved

Being heard

For being understood

Being kind

Kills the algorithm

Being cruel

Drives views

And they get paid

And they feel important

And they feel loved

Because…

We taught our children

That attention is the prize

That those with the loudest voices

Get to buy groceries and pay rent

Children don’t just become

What we hope for

They become

What gets the most applause

  1. and because we are, socialized by our external environments to value what we value, we usually pass the same value systems to our own next generations, and unless we realized that our values weren’t set correctly, and change, and set a better example for our younger generations, everything will keep on spiraling downward, and there’s NO ROCK bottom, everytthing just keeps falling down, into the depth of the, abyss!
