IN THE SEA OF ACCEPTANCE

It seemed as if the world exploded

A billion scattered thoughts cascading

Into a vibrate kaleidoscopic of color

Trapping me in an ocean of artistic expression

Holding me steady when consciousness fails

Grasping for answers

Only to come up short

I settle into a peace of unknowing

Reveling in this new found space

Seeing myself for the first time

I boldly decide to face my reflection

Scrutinizing every emotional flicker

Anger, sadness, jealousy swim like sharks

Around islands of love and patience

In the green blue sea around my pupils

I let it all pour out of me

A wave of all that I am

Crashing into those I keep near

Some struggle to stay afloat

While others swim along with ease

This is who I am, who I always was

Making peace with all of me

Was the thing I had never done

Acceptance finally stayed for a visit

Now I am left with the person I will always be

  2. I rarely re-read poems because I believe they have the spontaneous first touch…but I so madly loved this one that I didn’t just read it twice but for a full third time.. 🙂 stupendous 🙂
