The day I fell to pieces went
Other than I planned
and all that I had thought was right
echoed as it broke.

Colliding with myself an
Emotional frenzy unleashed
I sat down to write it out
But sadness was all I wrote

There upon the blood-stained paige
Sat in witness my hard words
Aching for a softness near
Near enough to touch.

But because of who I am
And the things that I have done
A life full of jagged edges
Is all that is left of me to judge

And so I turned my heart to dream
Of things I never thought would be
And there I heard the voice of Him
Who smashes every pride.

Making peace with what’s to come
I turned and set my past free
He wiped every slate clean
Leaving me a new journey to set out and find.
