OBSESSIVE LIVES

woman-835219_640

You can’t save me
Because you say
I will destroy you
You won’t try to
Because you say
I’m a slippery slope

My eyes wrap around my wrists again
Handcuffed to you; a prisoner again
Screams sharpen my every night
Crawling from hollow sentiments
Into your many complicated lies again

I will destroy you
If you won’t let me control you
I will hurt you
And then I will simply discard you

Tiptoeing to the edges of time again
Marching to the end of the line again
Blurring all the faces speaking
Their sounds and vowels and rhymes
Beating on all my insides once again

I’m a slippery slope
Waiting for you to climb
And when you think you’re safe
It will all crumble each and every time

I am clinging to the bottom again
To the porcelain white cold again
All the broken worn out phrases
Changing what I once thought fine
I’m scraping up my knees again

You won’t save me
Because you can’t
Because you can’t
Because you say
Only I can do that

  1. To the people who are right for you, you are everything and always enough. For the wrong people, you never will be – and nor will they be for you. They will let you down and hurt you. The right people will do their utmost to NOT to.

Stick with the right ones, Sunset. The wrong ones will always harm us.

And they’re wrong. We all need to save each other. We’re designed for that.

  2. I hope you can find the courage to get yourself out of what sounds like a controlling situation, an abusive relationship. Only you can save you. I know it’s scary sometimes, but there are so many other much “better” human beings that will appreciate and love you for who you are. You don’t need to change, you just need to get away from whoever it is that is doing this to you. You are worth it and you can make it without this other person. If you ever need to vent or want someone to talk to, I’ll be here. You are GOOD ENOUGH! I wish you the best on your journey. Take care of yourself, first! 🙂
