I LIKE MONKEYS By Arthur Browne

So there has been this monkey on my back.  A cute, overgrown, loveable monkey waiting patiently for me to write a review about his book.  Most everyone knows Arthur Browne author of the infamous blog Pouring My Art Out.  Arthur is the king of monkeying around and the blogosphere would not be the same without him.  In fact, Arthur kind of reminds me of a monkey in that he is curious, always up for anything, good-natured and silly. He recently wrote a children’s book in which I purchased a few as gifts at Christmas time.  Although the book is geared to children younger than HastyKid, who is nearly 10; she enjoyed it and even had a few compliments for me to pass on to Arthur.

HastyKid compliments:

Really awesome monkey pictures.

Little kids will be able to read the bigger letters much easier than they could a chapter book.

And she likes monkeys too.

The characters are very believable.

Since I have been thinking about writing this review here are a few ways the word monkey has been used in the Hasty household.

Dad, your breath could kill a monkey. ~HastyKid

I am so tired I could kill a monkey ~HastyHusband

Good monkeys kid, calm down! ~ Hasty

The book does what it is meant to do and that is: it starts a discussion.  What do you like? What it would be like if?  What if we were like?  By the time we were done reading the book this is what we felt like.

I am very glad I bought the book and the little girls that got it as a gift adored it.  I highly recommend this book.  If you are a mom, or a dad, or a grandma, or a friend of a mom/dad/grandma/grampa, or a teacher or even a monkey yourself you should consider buying this book and giving it to some beautiful little monkeys in your life!  Clink on the picture to take you to TheBookPatch

Arthur has also written some other books you can find at his website by clicking on his blog name above, I have purchased one of them and will start reading it soon so look for that review here in the future.
