I have been waiting for this post for awhile now. I have a very special connection with this friend and I am so glad he finally sat down to write something for me to share. Josh has one of the most beautiful, and loyal hearts I have ever met! Here is a a tiny bit of proof!

The day you said you loved me.
Frightened. Guarded. Truly afraid.
The day you said you loved me.
Memories. Hurt. Anxiety.
The day you said you loved me.
Comfort. Acceptance. Joy.
The day you said you loved me.
I truly felt loved and wanted to show you the same.
How special you are….I tried.
And the hardest part…
Is that the day you said you loved me,
Led to the day you said goodbye.

When you said goodbye to me
and said you loved me too
I was heartbroken and silent
didn’t know what to do
Should I tell you to stop
and never say, you loved me
For letting go of you was hard
but harder to let go of love…
never should you have told me
I am not glad ..only sad
before I was losing a hand
now I am losing a heart as well

Hard hitting is well put. The last ‘paragraph’ knocked the wind out of me and landed with an, “oh” formed by the escaping breath. Nodding, I acknowledge that is indeed true love, the love that says I can no longer stand by and watch you hurting yourself. The love strong enough to say, I want to be near you, but you do not love you as much as I love you. Walking the valley is dark and lonely. May you never feel fear as you climb to the mountain tops. I assure you, the view over and across the valley is breathtaking – not in a blow to the solar plexus kind of way – rather, in an awe struck way!
