THE BUYERS OF NIGHTTIME BARGAINS

BeFunkydark bldg.jpgWritten by Gunmetal Geisha and HastyWords

Broken street lamps flicker, laughing
As the darkness hides its deformities
I wander directionless into this night
Sirens warning of nearby emergencies

Secret decrepitude picks a corner of brain
Plants bodegas of expired groceries
Condemned dwellings of unwashed squatters
A big bang emergence of new old cities

Alleyways twist, snaking upon senile tongues
Diving into cheap pints of booze and breaking
Sticky mosaic shards beneath suicide ledges
As the moon reflects their silent aching

So do my pupils reflect the bite-marked moon
Peepholes to grey matter’s rivulets taking
Electric shapes, new old longings now on sale
Pathways dead-end, each at my forsaking

  2. Very real. I can feel it sinking into my soul as if it has always been there and only needed to be said. Excellently written. Thank you GG and Hasty.
