LET ME TUG AT YOUR HEART

This is my friend Jason Talbot

Sometimes we need help; things happen beyond our control and we have no choice but to ask for help to get back on our feet.  These are the times I am thankful for the network of friends I have and their generous hearts. I don’t typically ask for donations or for charitable contributions because 1) I am terrible at it and 2) I know everyone struggles to make a living; but I have a friend, and his family, who need you.  A divorced dad, with custody of his three children, was a pedestrian hit by a truck.  Jason Talbot needs your help after an extensive stay in the hospital and his continuing recovery from severe head trauma.

42e81a33-c45d-4c6b-b951-4f3bbbf63ddcI used to read about a cause that touched my heart and I would think I can’t afford to help enough to make a difference.  I used to feel heart broken and helpless but thankfully, I learned a long time ago, that every little bit helps.  In this case, I have a friend who is need and I know anything from $1 upward would let his family know you want to support them.  If you can’t donate, you can help by sharing this blog or his story.  I believe, we are a powerful community of bloggers and with our power we can help a family get back on their feet after a tragic accident.  I know from experience that when we all pull together we CAN and DO make a difference.  Jennifer Jay, a mutual friend, did a wonderful job telling Jason’s story below.  Please read more about my friend Jason and consider sharing his story. And thank you deeply from the depths of my heart.

THE STORY written by Jennifer Jay
Jason Talbot’s life was moving along beautifully. Jason was loving working and being a full-time single father of three beautiful children ages 6, 9, and 13. Life drastically changed on March 18, 2014.

Jason (from Oklahoma) was in Billings, Montana on a business trip. Jason had the right of way and was walking in a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle. His head hit the ground causing a skull fracture on the rear of his head resulting in a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). He was rushed to Billings Hospital where they immediately took him into surgery to insert a drain tube for the blood and an internal cranial pressure monitor to watch the swelling. Unsatisfied with the lack of reduced swelling, about 30 minutes after his first surgery, doctors performed a 4 hour surgery to remove a portion of his skull. He remained in an induced coma and on a ventilator for 14 days. The doctors could not say much about the condition he would be in once he woke up. We waited, not so patiently, and prayed for God to save him.

Praise God that Jason did wake up. It has been 12 weeks since that traumatic day. Jason is working hard in therapies towards recovery and currently awaiting another surgery to replace the skull bone that was removed the day of the accident.

Jason was working as a financial analyst and has been unable to work since the day of the accident and will likely not return to work any time soon. As you all know, medical bills are mounting and with continued hospitalizations, surgeries, and therapies they will continue to grow. In addition, Jason’s ongoing daily bills will remain constant.

This website has been set up to raise funds for Jason’s continued financial expenses. You can donate through this website and the money will be directly deposited into a bank account being managed by his sister, Tammy Talbot-VanDyke, on Jason’s behalf.

Please join me in supporting Jason on his road to recovery. Any amount helps tremendously and is greatly appreciated. Prayer Warriors for Jason continues to pray. It is my hope that Helping Hands for Jason can assist financially. Please share this link on Facebook, Twitter, and with all of your friends and family. On Jason’s behalf, thank you again for your support.
